School Visits and Outdoor learning 2022
Countryside Classroom
School visits and outdoor learning can have a lasting impact on children, and we want to be able to offer this to the next generation at Sundey Hill Farm. A visit would help children connect with nature, farming and the wider countryside environment by providing hands on activities. Sundey Hill Farm is a 100 acre pasture farm between Swindon and Malmesbury on land that was originally part of the Braydon Forest. The Braydon Forest is a distinctive landscape marked by many mature English Oak trees, and grass fields. We have oak trees, hedgerows, ponds, wildflower hay meadows, grazing animals, and apple orchard and hilly slopes for children to enjoy.
A day or half day visit could include the following:
- Who lives here? Habitats on the farm
- Caring for animals on the farm
- Farm Walks and Mapping
- How healthy is the wildflower meadow?
- Tree ID & the history of Braydon Forest
We are pleased to be able to provide visits free of charge to school groups and we are now taking bookings for 2022.
